The Italian coach stressed that Mbappe is the best striker in the world currently, noting that he has helped Real Madrid a lot in achieving positive results, and confirming that he is living a very good period at the present time.

Ancelotti said in the press conference following the match, which took place at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in the Spanish capital, Madrid : “I am confused because I heard that we played very bad football and what I see is that Real Madrid is the leader.”

“I will continue to study the team’s mistakes,” Ancelotti explained. “Today we played a very perfect match, with a lot of quality. We started badly but the dynamic did not change.”

“Mbappe has helped us a lot because he is going through a very good period. The team has worked very well. We are able to find the balance necessary to deal with the good and difficult moments,” the Real Madrid coach added.

Ancelotti continued talking about Mbappe, saying: “He is the best striker in the world. We could have put him on the left wing, but he is a great striker and feels very comfortable in the middle and not on the wing. He has a unique ability to move and we can use it better inside.

The veteran coach added: “I cannot say that we are the best football players , but we do not play badly. The team works. Sometimes it plays better and sometimes it does not.”

“Sometimes there is a good balance and sometimes there is not,” he continued. “We try to play football taking into account the characteristics of my players.”

At the end of his speech, Ancelotti touched on the criticism that the team has received recently, saying: “There is always criticism. The boos at the Bernabéu hurt because they represent criticism from our wounded fan base that motivates us. They were a wake-up call in the cup match and were useful. Today the team gave a great performance.”
