Guardiola talks about Rodri’s return on this date
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said he is excited about midfielder Rodri’s recovery and hopes the Ballon d’Or winner will be back on the pitch before the end of the season.
Guardiola initially ruled out Rodri’s participation until the end of the season after he suffered a rupture in his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last September.
But Rodri, who is targeting an early return after undergoing surgery, has now resumed individual training.
“The fans have to know that they are not the only ones who are excited and happy,” Guardiola told reporters after Manchester City beat Plymouth Argyle 3-1 on Saturday to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals.
