The Madrid Prosecutor’s Office asks for the filing of the complaint of Ayuso’s partner for not seeing a crime
The Court of Instruction number 1 of Madrid opened the investigation against Begoña Gómez before the Prosecutor’s Office made a statement, after admitting the complaint of the far-right trade union Manos Limpias.
The Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Madrid has today requested the archiving of the investigation opened by the Court of Instruction number 1 of Madrid against the wife of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez.
The judge admitted a complaint filed by the far-right trade union Clean Hands and opened a secret investigation for influence peddling and corruption, before the Prosecutor’s Office made a decision. Now, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has appealed the judge’s decision to the Madrid Court and has asked for his arrest.
In a statement released this morning, Manos Limpias has specified that the complaint against Gómez is based “exclusively” on “information” published by several media outlets and has acknowledged that this information may be false. “It is up to the judge in charge of the investigation to say whether this information is true or not,” reads the letter signed by the secretary general of the far-right group, Miguel Bernad.
Sanchez made an announcement yesterday that has turned Spanish politics upside down. He assured that he will leave the public agenda to study whether he should continue at the head of the government, after learning that his wife is being investigated.
