Video of Fluminense coach insulting Marcelo.. and decision to terminate his contract
Brazilian club Fluminense announced on Saturday the termination of the contract of its defender Marcelo, who won the Champions League title five times with his former team Real Madrid.
The Brazilian club stated on its official account on the social media platform “X”: ” Fluminense and Marcelo Vieira announce the termination of their contract by mutual consent between the two parties.”
Fluminense did not specify the reason for the termination of the contract, but according to media reports, there was an argument between Marcelo and coach Mano Menezes during Friday’s 2-2 draw with Gremio in the Brazilian league.
The statement added: “The club thanks Marcelo for his efforts,” stressing that it is still proud of the player’s successes and that the emotional bond between them still exists.
The cameras on the pitch captured a problem between the Fluminense coach and Marcelo, who was about to enter before being prevented by Mano Menezes, who misbehaved and disrespected Marcelo.
