Surne Bilbao Basket player Adam Smith has suffered a “partial proximal rupture” in his right Achilles tendon that will require surgical treatment, the Basque club confirmed.

The American shooting guard, therefore, will miss the remaining four games to finish the regular phase of the Endesa League.

The first of these will be next Saturday in Fontajau against Básquet Girona, a match for which the availability of both Keith Hornsby and Xavi Rabaseda is also in doubt.

Hornsby, like Smith, was injured on Saturday in the match against Obradoiro and medical tests have revealed that the American has a “myofascial rupture of the left adductor longus”, with a prognosis of recovery “according to evolution” and, therefore, indefinite.

In the match against the Galician team, Rabaseda was absent due to a muscle injury in his left leg, whose progression is unknown for now.

The team from Biscay faces these last four rounds with permanence assured and located in eleventh place with a balance of 13 wins, two behind the tenth position occupied by Joventut and with two more than Morabanc Andorra, twelfth.
