The Basque athlete Ibai Magdaleno has been proclaimed Virtus world champion in 10 kilometres of road, at the World Championship that has taken place in Almaty (Kazakhstan). Magdaleno won the gold medal with a time of 33:15, as reported by the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Intellectual Disabilities, and was also awarded third place in the general classification of the race by age group.
In addition to Magdaleno, another athlete from the same club, the Bertako Javi Conde Paralympic Elevator Club, has also made an outstanding performance in the World Championships: Raúl Martínez has achieved fourth place in the Half Marathon, with a time of 1:14:17, and has also achieved third place in the general classification of the race by age group.
